We were jolted out of our seat last year about the world’s biggest muslim nation in terms of population was publishing a playboy magazine. Despite protests from ISLAMIC HARDLINERS, Erwin Arnada, the magazine’s Chief Editor went ahead with his original intention. The cost of purchasing the publication licence from the Indonesian Government was reportedly to be around Rupiah 3 milliar or 3 million rupiah. But when the first issue went out on to the market, the hot-blooded males were all disappointed as it didn’t feature any nude women and not even more risque than any other men’s magazine already out on Indonesia’s streets.
Amongst those female celebrities who have been featured in the magazine so far is our very own model, AMBER CHIA (first issue), Andhara Early Astrawinata, Kartika Oktaviani Gunawan and Julie Estelle (3rd issue). Because of the PLAYBOY MAGAZINE, JULIE ESTELLE had a breakthrough in the movie industry. So far she has been on ALEXANDRIA, DEALOVA, KUNTILANAK, SELAMANYA. She’s currently dating some race driver, named MOERENO SOEPRAPTO, a brother of another INDONESIAN RACE DRIVER, ANANDA MIKOLA. JULIE is currently studying at France International School, Jakarta, Indonesia.
